ABOUT NINA
My approach is shaped by both formal training and the personal experiences that led me to this work. I support children, teens, and adults with care and cultural awareness, drawing from a foundation built through academic study and real-life understanding. I earned my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC.
My journey into the mental health field began well before graduate school. I was raised in Pasadena as a first-generation Armenian-American by immigrant parents whose lives were marked by both trauma and resilience—experiences that deeply inform the compassion and insight I bring to my work today.
From a young age, I saw how unresolved emotions and unspoken pain could affect the health of a family. Those early experiences sparked a deep desire in me to help others heal and interrupt patterns passed down through generations.
Although therapy wasn’t something openly discussed in my Armenian household, I knew that I wanted to become the kind of support I once needed.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, and rooted in curiosity and compassion. Think of our work together as a space where you can be fully yourself—heard, supported, and met with warmth and a touch of humor.
My office is a space where adults and young people can bring concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, and life transitions, and receive thoughtful, effective care.
I enjoy working with individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, including those with immigrant experiences, and I offer therapy sessions in both English and Armenian. I believe that recognizing and honoring each person’s cultural identity is a vital part of the healing process, and I aim to create a space where every aspect of a client’s story is acknowledged and valued.
For those who are interested, I also provide Christian counseling, integrating faith as a meaningful source of healing and strength.
Healing is rarely a straight path and often requires patience and repeated effort. Like any skill, growth comes with consistent practice. Together, we’ll set practical goals, celebrate every bit of progress, and gently challenge the beliefs that no longer serve you—helping you step into the best version of yourself.
Outside of the therapy office, you’ll find me taking long walks, trying out new recipes, dancing, watching comedy films, and enjoying time with my loved ones and my red poodle, Stella. Although I’m part of Gen Z, I have an old soul, drawn to classic movies from Turner Classic Movies and music from the ’60s through the ’80s!
I’m so grateful you’ve taken this step
and honored to support you on your journey.
